SST-120

The SST-120 class is made up from boats of Tunnel Hull design only, with a minimum length of 16 feet and a maximum engine size of 120 cubic inches. The total  weight of the boat, motor and driver must be a minimum of 1050 pounds. Engines must remain completely stock.  Engines must  run on pump gas with an octane rating between 87-120 octane. No performance enhancing fuel additives are allowed. Capsule style cockpits are required. Drivers minimum age is 18 years old. The motors primarily used are the Mercury 122 cubic inch V-6 cylinder motors with speed master lower units.  Boats racing in this class generally range from $7000 - $25,000 and run speeds into the 120 mph range.

SST-60

The SST-60 class is made up from boats of Tunnel Hull design only, with a minimum length of 14 feet and a maximum engine size of 60 cubic inches. The total  weight of the boat, motor and driver must be a minimum of 825 pounds. Engines must remain completely stock and retain a shiftable gearcase. Engines must  run on pump gas with an octane rating between 87-93 octane. No performance enhancing fuel additives are allowed. Capsule style cockpits are required. Drivers minimum age is 16 years old. The motors primarily used are the Johnson / Evinrude 56 cubic inch 3 cylinder motors.  Boats racing in this class generally range from $4000 - $15,000 and run speeds into the mid 80 mph range.

Formula-150

The Formula-150 class is made up from boats of Tunnel Hull design only, with a minimum length of 16 feet and a maximum engine size of 165 cubic inches (2.7 liter). The total  weight of the boat, motor and driver must be a minimum of 1100 pounds. Engines must remain completely stock.  Engines must  run on pump gas with an octane rating between 87-120 octane. No performance enhancing fuel additives are allowed. Capsule style cockpits are required. Drivers minimum age is 18 years old. The motors primarily used are the Mercury 153 cubic inch V-6 cylinder motors with speed master lower units.  Boats racing in this class generally range from $7000 - $25,000 and run speeds into the 140 mph range.

Sport- C

The Sport-C class is made up from boats of  the Tunnel Hull design only, with a minimum length of 8 feet and a maximum engine size of 35 cubic inches. The total  weight of the boat, motor and driver must be a minimum of 675 pounds. Engines must remain completely STOCK. Engines must  run on pump gas with an octane rating between 87-93 octane. No performance enhancing fuel additives are allowed.  Capsule style or reinforced cockpit is required. Drivers minimum age is 14 years old. Motors used are primarily Tohotsu and Nissan 40 horsepower motors. Boats racing in this class generally range from $3000 - $6000 and run speeds into the mid 60 mph range.  Drivers are Male and Female  This is an excellent entry level class to tunnel boat racing.

GT Pro

GT Pro is open to tunnel, v-bottom and modified vee boats at least ten feet long, home-, custom- or production-built, powered by stock 35 hp Johnson or Evinrude fishing motors. Minimum weight for boat, motor and driver is 650 lbs. Engines must be run on pump gas with an octane rating between 87 and 92. No performance enhancing fuel additives are allowed. Drivers minimum age is 14 years old. Hydraulic trim is permitted, and propellers of any material or design are allowed. GT Pro is a local or "Sportsman" class for TCPBA, with speeds approaching 50 mph. Race-ready boats cost in the $1200 to $3500 range. This is an excellent entry level class, or a quick step-up from Mini GT."

FORMULA-V

The Formula-V class is made up from boats of V-Bottom hull design only, with a minimum length of 13 feet and a maximum engine size of 99 cubic inches. The total  weight of the boat, motor and driver must be a minimum of 1000 pounds. Engines must remain completely stock and retain a shiftable gearcase (no speedmasters). Engines must  run on pump gas with an octane rating between 87-93 octane. No performance enhancing fuel additives are allowed. A roll cage or capsule style cockpit is required. Drivers minimum age is 16 years old. Johnson, Evinrude, Mercury, Yamaha, Suzuki, Tohotsu and Nissan motors are allowed. Motors primarily used are the Johnson/Evinrude V-4 and the Mercury inline 6. Boats racing in this class generally range from $2000 - $5500 and run speeds into the mid 70 mph range. This class has remained very popular over the years because the boats can maintain a Lake boat / Race boat usage.

V-Production

VP is a Entry level Inexpensive V-Bottom class. The boat must be of V-Bottom design, 13-16 feet in length and must be a production built molded fiberglass hull. Engines are limited to 49.9 cubic inches, and must be 20 inch shaft, Motors with Trim and tilt musthave trim system disconnected while boats are under competition. Centerline of propshafts must remain 5 inches below bottom of boat. Motors must remain stock.
